The Inspiration
Flying has always been a huge area of interest for me. I have been flying small single engine planes for 3 years now and have received my private pilot's license. This experience has led to many other areas of focus in flight including high power rocketry.
The Beginnings
I began by building smaller amateur rockets and then moving on to making some models on my own. My main interest was in the engineering and chemistry behind the motors. With that, I began building my own motors using a homemade propellant called R-Candy which is comprised mainly of Potassium Nitrate and powdered sugar. My experience with motor building and smaller rockets gave me valuable knowledge and skills which I am going to put into practice with a high power rocket for this project.

FlyUpon completion, the rocket will be flown twice with a primary shakedown flight to test the airframe and systems as well as eliminate any issues. After this, a heavily documented Mach breaking run will take place.
